Lost child or vulnerable person
Simple steps for helping somebody who becomes separated from their group.
If you have lost somebody
Tell an identifiable event team or welfare member as soon as possible. Give a clear description and the place/time you last saw the person. Avoid sharing identifying details publicly on social media while an active search is taking place.
If you find a child or vulnerable person
Stay in a visible public location, reassure them, and immediately involve the event welfare/safeguarding team. Do not take them away from the event site or attempt to investigate personal circumstances yourself.
Reunification
The event team should use an agreed verification process before reuniting a child or vulnerable person with an adult. Records should be proportionate, confidential and retained only as necessary for safeguarding and incident management.
